A Truth Journal: Veterans Affairs Claims Logjam: Should Prez Obama Declare National Emergency?: From Denny:  There's a wonderful reason my husband is nicknamed "Satan" at our house.  Most times it's because he specializes in being the most annoying irritating person on the planet because it's his idea of fun when he gets bored - while he is the only person laughing. There are those times when Home "Satan" comes up with a wickedly good idea. "Satan" proposed it is past due time for President Obama to issue an executive order to declare a temporary suspension of all federal workers' rights and pay who work in the Veterans Affairs Administration until the claims logjam is accomplished.

Shocking, isn't it?  What's more shocking is how many veterans are committing suicide as a result of the VA falling down on the job.  Let the unions and the courts sort it out later.  As President, Mr. Obama should bring this call to action to pierce the logjam with a motivation for workers to keep their jobs.

A Truth Journal: Jon Stewart Hammers Vet Affairs Failing to Break 1 Million Claims Logjam: From Denny:  While other equally pressing news stories push to the front of the public's attention - like Israel attacking idiot terrorist-supporting Syria and the tragic Boston marathon bombing by less experienced terrorists - the very soldiers who fought America's terrorism wars are told to wait for help by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Granted the VA does process around one million claims a year, all this while in the midst of trying to change over from an outdated dinosaur 1970's paper culture and advance into the digital age.  Currently, they are looking at another two years before believing they will have arrived in said digital age.  Let's get real; multiple that by ten and the estimate might be near accurate.

A Truth Journal: More WTF? More Cool From Team Obama Giving Up Salary Money in Show of Sequestration Layoff Solidarity?: From Denny:   America, forget about political optics, sliding our way this entire past week was more cool  from the Obama White House channel.

Yes, it's true.  There actually are federal officials giving away their money back to taxpayers.  Happily blame Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and his Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter for starting this trend when they jumped up and volunteered to put some skin in the sequestration game.

"Yes, don't ask of your country what they can do for your wallet but rather volunteer some of your paycheck back to your country's wallet" may be the new political trend?  One thing is for sure, these Democrats  definitely make the Republicans look like the usual stingy political losers flying their freak flags on the national political highway.

A Truth Journal: Jon Stewart Slams Vets Admin For Damning 900,000 Vets To Health Care Hell: From Denny:  Like President Obama was warned when coming into his first term by outgoing President Bush 43, "Somewhere, every day, there is someone screwing up in the federal government."  Truer words could never have been spoken.  Who knew Bush was a government prophet?

For decades there have been serious problems going on at the Veterans Administration.  Along comes a new President and he throws a healthy extra billion dollars at the VA to fix the current problem, and, you guessed it, taxpayers are not getting their money's worth.

What it amounts to is that basically two greedy battling tech competitors set about to screw over 900,000 disabled veterans in desperate need of medical treatments and surgeries.  Does the insane and depraved indifference of greed never stop?  It's shameful what is happening over at the VA...

I saw a news report on NBC News, Nightly News with Brian Williams, about the more than 5,000 homeless female military vets that the Pentagon was not helping so I decided to start this fund raising effort over at Cafe Press (Denny Lyon Gifts) to help raise funds for the women.  The majority of these former female vets end up on the streets because of PTSD from being raped while serving in the military....

A Truth Journal: Why Wont Pentagon Pay For PTSD Service Dogs For Returning Soldiers?:  From Denny:  This new fledgling effort service dogs project in Louisiana between two vets has the potential to significantly lower the funding necessary for mental health costs for our soldiers returning from the battlefield.  Yet the Pentagon and Veteran Affairs slough it off as meaningless.  In the home for 24 hours a day, service dogs are always cheaper than years of talk and drug therapy with expensive psychiatrists on a weekly or monthly basis.

A Truth Journal: Petraeus Scandal: Funny Colbert Weighs In Why America Is In Financial Ruin: From Denny:  Yeah, we all need a score card to keep up with the constantly unfolding Petraeus Affair of former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus and his also married girlfriend, whom he has "known and mentored" for many years, Paula Broadwell.

Enter in the conniving loose cannon on deck, Jill Kelley, as former girlfriend to Petraeus and current girlfriend to Gen. John Allen, author of thousands of emails, and you have a real mess.  It makes you wonder if Central Command is full of generals and chippies playing musical beds.

Both Broadwell and Kelley were busy girls.  They were busy sleeping their way to the top of Central Command (CENTCOM) and possibly (strong probability) selling classified information.  There is some compelling reason all involved have hired criminal lawyers, the best in the country.  Of course, Petraeus is busy employing a public relations firm to rehab his name before the story ends.  Who else commissions a Pew Poll to find out how much the public now hates you?  Bizarre.

A Truth Journal: CIA Petraeus Affair: How Much Partying Is Going On With Jill Kelley At Pentagon Central Command?: From Denny:  What the hell is going on at the Pentagon's Central Command and Special Operations Commands (CENTCOM) in Tampa, Florida?  Is this a collection of party hardy long-married generals acting like fools over much younger ambitious women seeking status, power and information?

Can you imagine Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey calling from Washington down to Florida and cussing out the top command after CIA Director Petraeus resigned so suddenly - and then Gen. Allen's email mess surfaced?  That had to be choice.  Oh, to be a fly on the wall for that blessing out.

Whatever the case this is always a sad event.  When you add the intelligence community component it could too easily evolve into a national security disaster.  Move over, Wiki Leaks, the old-fashioned honeypot trap works in any century as an easy way to extract sensitive information.

The Social Poets: GOP Plans To Axe Food Stamps For Over 150 Million Americans: From Denny:  Over 46 million households in America depend upon the food stamp benefits program to put enough food on the table to feed their families.

If each household is a family of four then you are looking at maybe as many as 184 million Americans.  That is over half to two-thirds of America in need of help to eat each day.  No one said it meant three meals a day either.

It does not seem to matter to the GOP and Congress that these same Americans have contributed as taxpayers to support these programs.  Now, the unthinkable for the majority of them is to draw food stamps benefits.  They have no choice; the economy is that bad.

Many active duty military to retirees use $100 million in food stamps benefits.  Are the Republicans just out of control crazy to do this to them and the rest of America?  What is wrong with these people?

Funny Video: Colbert Says Osama Bin Laden Still Dead

From Denny: In the spirit of true excessive satirical celebration Stephen Colbert talks his usual funny nonsense that is so ridiculous you can't help but laugh. His latest is downplaying how Bin Laden was said to be a figurehead but hey, America loves to hunt down and kill figureheads just as much as the guys who are involved in day to day operations.

Colbert proclaims we all love figureheads, like the British monarchy, why not terrorist figureheads? Says Colbert, "I can't wait to see what he was wearing."

He gives a shout out to Navy Seal Team Six. Since the real identities of the team are classified only Colbert would speculate as to who they truly are: Rambo, John MacLaine, Master Chief, Batman, Vin Diesel, Laura Croft and Kung Fu Panda.

Colbert shows a Fox News clip of the original Navy Seal commanding officer who organized the Seals into what we know today, Dick Marcinko. He also wrote a lot of fictional books about his missions, most of which I read since my husband was given them as gifts from friends. My husband turned to me and said, "Denny, you may be a woman but you are the macho warrior in the family. Here, read these, tell me what they are about so I can tell my friends I read them. You were mentored by crusty old warriors like this.  You understand this stuff." Yeah, my hubby loves his human clift notes. :)

Turns out the Seals grabbed a whole lot of goodies like 5 computers, 10 hard drives and 100 storage devices. Now Colbert speculates as to what music was on Bin Laden's iPod.
