A Truth Journal: 2012 Presidential Debate Jokes, 18 Funny Photos, 3 Videos

A Truth Journal: 2012 Presidential Debate Jokes, 18 Funny Photos, 3 Videos: From Denny:  "Can you hear me now?"  Watch the Romney campaign in slow motion implode just in time to lose the election. (Oh, thank you, there is a God.)  Stupid on Steroids GOP Senate candidates keep talking about rape in ways to legitimize it.  The constant GOP rape talk does start you wondering if all of these men were actually once guilty of rape. Are these politicians trying to find ways to rationalize rape as no big deal to absolve them of their nagging conscience?

Colbert wipes the floor with these fools in clip after clip after he lists idiot comment after idiot comment in one long GOP brain diarrhea stream:  Team Rape.  There really should be an intelligence test - and a sanity test - for any one desiring to run for office.  We know who could not pass it.

A Truth Journal: Mocking The Romney Campaign: Late Nite Jokes, Funny Photos

A Truth Journal: Mocking The Romney Campaign: Late Nite Jokes, Funny Photos: From Denny:  Tomorrow night the big political match-up between the flip-flopping challenger Republican Mitt Romney and incumbent Democratic President Barack Obama will be nationally televised.  So far to date, Romney senior advisers have whined about the political polls incorrectly lean toward people identifying themselves as Democrats.

What's the matter?  Find your Republican base eroding?  Even here in former red state Louisiana droves of people no longer identify with the Republican Party and now list themselves as Independents.  If the Democrats actually got serious about making their case more Independents would sign on into the Democrat camp permanently.

More weird in this odd campaign, Romney sends out his wife to whine to the press about "how hard it is" to run for President.  Oh, please, watch the millionaire's wife bitch about working for a few short interview stints and campaign rallies.  How about all the people bitching as to why their pension funds are sitting in the Romney personal account because of his corporate raider ways?  Last time we all checked that's called "ill gotten gains."

The Social Poets: Hurricane Adventure: Cooking by Candlelight on the Bayou: From Denny:  Have you ever noticed that when you go off the grid your mind turns to comedy?  OK, during a hurricane the mind often slides on down toward dark humor.

After all, your brain is geared up to engage with technology and suddenly finds itself in total withdrawal.  And, it's a good thing that humor was created.  It's the best weapon in the human arsenal for survival.

I went off the grid for three days - and hot sweaty nights - during the very long week of Hurricane Isaac...

The Social Poets: Romney: What Is It About American Republican Presidential Candidates Are So Socially Awkward?

Romney

The Social Poets: Romney: What Is It About American Republican Presidential Candidates Are So Socially Awkward?: From Denny:  What is it about how the Republicans keep putting up one bad candidate after another?  The whole point of interacting with other world leaders is to cultivate at least the veneer of a polished and smooth sociability.

Obama has that "X" Factor - at least on the surface - and Mitt Romney decidedly does not have it - on the surface or deeper.  George Bush 43 didn't have it at all either.  He was downright vacuous.  Even nice Ike Eisenhower was known for his salty language and terribly confused communication, comprised of broken disjointed sentences, that the press was forever cleaning up before delivering his message to the public.

Yet America keeps on electing the socially awkward and the relationship insensitive.  Looks like Romney is well on his way to the White House.  He sure is trotting around the globe this past week meeting with world leaders like a trial run.  And the Obama presidency was an anomaly that looks like it is soon to be corrected by disgruntled voters.

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Way 4 U.S. Govt 2 Handle Mexican Drug Smugglers: From Denny:  Take a peek inside a living room as Middle Class America watches the news, offering up outrageous solutions to the nation's ills.

For decades, Mexican drug smugglers have been devising all kinds of effective methods to penetrate the American coastline.  The news anchor seems to think the various government agencies have proven effective at containing the Mexican drug smugglers on land.

Lately - yes, this is a real news story - the smugglers have turned to retrofitting simple Mexican fishing boats with multiple engines to skim across the water so fast you might blink your eyes and miss them.

Apparently, the Coast Guard and other government agencies working in unison, are on watch every night, seeking out the more than several dozen runs by the smugglers all along the California coastline.

This news clip shows how the law enforcement agencies are successful, and arresting all kinds of smugglers, all lined up for The Perp Walk.

Yeah, Middle America is sitting on the couch taking it all in, fidgeting with the remote, when a stellar idea pops into their heads.  All that arrest business sure is a lot of unnecessary work.  We have a more effective solution of how to deal with these cheesy Mexican smugglers.

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks Outrageous Arizona School Board Fearing Mexican-American Studies

Jon Stewart

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks Outrageous Arizona School Board Fearing Mexican-American Studies: From Denny:  The Daily Show may be a comedy show but Jon Stewart utilizes what is happening right here in America as material.  You can't make up this stuff.  It's unbelievable.  How do these incredibly insensitive - and more importantly, really stupid - people rise to such high positions of authority where they affect the lives of millions of people?  It's scary in its implications.

It's difficult to believe this superintendent actually has a doctorate in education.  Are you sure this guy didn't lie on his resume or buy his degree from some online scam site?  It's like listening to my Republican Louisiana Senator David Vitter who claims to be a Rhodes scholar and a lawyer who graduated Ivy League schools.  He can barely put a sentence together and lacks rational thinking just like this fool.

Watch as comic Al Madrigal baits this guy about Mexican-American studies now banned in Arizona's Tucson school district.  The reasons this superintendent gives are incredible, all based only upon hearsay. Hearsay - can you believe it? This guy who heads their school board never even bothered to talk to the teachers of the program or read any of the textbooks.  And he calls himself an educator?  Unbelievable.

The Social Poets: Rush Limbaugh: Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire About Advertisers Status

The Social Poets: Rush Limbaugh: Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire About Advertisers Status: From Denny:  I'm with Jon Stewart.  Rush Limbaugh just keeps on giving the comedy material, serving it up on a silver platter. His latest gambit is to now challenge the logic about his advertisers' performance since they left his show or if they stayed.

Normal people call it irrational logic, you know, an oxymoron attempt by Rush.  Sometimes, this guy is just too much fun to lampoon.  It's as silly as the research scientists who decided after lengthy study that, "People die six months before or six months after their birthdays."  That stupid study must have been underwritten by Limbaugh.

Ouch Outrageous Obnoxious and Odd: Funny Video: Flying Pig, No Wings Necessary

Flying Piglet

Ouch Outrageous Obnoxious and Odd: Funny Video: Flying Pig, No Wings Necessary: From Denny:  This is one of those unexpected videos from real life that catches you off guard.  The piglets and Momma pig were being filmed and discussed as to weaning time for the little guys.

Well, get a shocker as to how Big Pig quickly convinces her piglets to wean themselves.  Now you know where the children's books got the idea for flying pigs.  Watch closely as it happens so fast you might miss it.

Sort of reminds you of Wall Street Bankers where you sure would like to thump them all out, weaning them off corporate welfare and federal bailouts.

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks The Trayvon Martin Hoodie Threat: From Denny:  Jon Stewart lampoons hoodie wearing supportive journalists and politicians trying to join the trending and popular national conversation demanding a proper investigation into the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, a young black man deemed suspicious as he walked through a neighborhood wearing a hoodie.  Amazingly, without the public outcry and national pressure, the police had no intention of investigating the crime.

Happy Birthday Star Trek Spock, Leonard Nimoy: Funny Satire, The Lazy Song Video

From Denny:  "Live long and prosper" Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy (Spock) acts out his birthday fantasy in this funny video.  This video is truly hilarious.

Leonard Nimoy turned 81 years old this week and plays the Crusty Old Guy in the neighborhood as his neighbors, store clerks and the postman try to wish him a Happy Birthday.  Nimoy decides to just be lazy for his special day and do absolutely nothing.  Check out what "absolutely nothing" entails.

"The Lazy Song" is from Bruno Mars, a favorite artist of mine.  It comes from the album "doo-wops and hooligans." (Available at http://brunomars.com)  For Bruno Mars' version, go to this link on youtube.

Funny Monday Morning Work Cartoons

From Denny: Check out these funny work day cartoons I found hanging around in the draft section of this blog. Better yet, the cartoonists still have the embed codes enabled - which certainly makes me do a little Sesame Street Elmo Happy Dance.

Almost two years ago it was when a stable of famous cartoonists quit enabling the embed codes to their political cartoons on thousands of blogs and sites. Considering how much traffic we bloggers sent them that could not have been too smart a business move. Oh, well. :)   It also explains why you will see blank areas in a post or web page and maybe a few cartoons still left to view.

One of these days I'll get around to doodling my own cartoons and put the embed codes up on flickr - free to bloggers forever. So, while you are waiting for Her Greatness to find the time to doodle you can enjoy these smart cartoonists who are still available for viewing, enjoy!

The Working Daze blog that links to his daily cartoons too.

Check out one of the cartoonists, John Zakour's bio - though it looks like he no longer offers new embed codes:I am a freelance humor writer and novelist with a master's degree in human behavior and undergrad degrees in Computer Science, Eco and Bio. I write a series of humorous sci fi novels for Daw books. I call it Bubble Gum for the Brain. I write a comic strip for United Media called Working Daze. I'm also now writing some Simpson's comics for Bongo comics."
