A Truth Journal: Embattled UN Amb. Susan Rice: Why Are GOP and Russians United Against Her?

A Truth Journal: Embattled UN Amb. Susan Rice: Why Are GOP and Russians United Against Her?:

From Denny:  Whoever thought the GOP and the Russians could ally together politically?  What an international scandal. :) Yes, the Republicans and the Russians both hate U.N. Amb. Susan Rice as the president's choice for replacing Sec. of State Hillary Clinton.  Hey, if the Russians don't want Rice then there is only one thing to do:  hire her immediately.

Whoever heard of the Russians weighing in on who America decides to put in as Sec. of State?  That is a serious red flag in my book.  It's unprecedented.  Of course, the fact Putin felt he had to "voice his wishes" signals Putin is afraid of a strong woman capable of outmaneuvering him.  Like I said, hire her immediately.  It's clear she is capable of pushing back hard against the dictators of the world - and wins.  It's wonderful she gives them all headaches.  Geaux, girl!

The Social Poets: Traitor Romney Plays Political Opportunist During National Crisis

The Social Poets: Traitor Romney Plays Political Opportunist During National Crisis: From Denny:  Apparently, Republican challenger Mitt Romney has no integrity.  He is not a real American and nothing but a traitor.

Why should we expect anything better out of this rotten Republican campaign?  He is the typical businessman who engages in war profiteering - campaigning to keep wars going on for years - while our troops give their blood.  This is as wrong as what Romney just did.

Romney jumped out to talk to the press early this morning - hoping to be carried by the popular morning shows in order to reach millions of viewers.  He made sure he appeared before the President had a chance to talk to the nation.  The Republicans are always complaining how no one has respect for the presidency.  Yeah?  When are you guys going to follow your own rhetoric?  Not any time soon is clear for all to see.

Video clips of statements from Ambassador Chris Stevens from back in May when he took the job, President Obama's Rose Garden statement and Romney's press conference statement.

Libya: Comic Talks Marketing Guru, Rebranding Libya

John Oliver Occupy Wall Street 2011 ShankboneImage by david_shankbone via FlickrFrom Denny:  This Daily Show interview, conducted by comic John Oliver with former Libyan Ambassador Ali Suleiman Aujali, is a study in what we call in Louisiana "Crawfishing."  Get a laugh and watch this 40 year loyal servant of Gaddafi walk backwards his life, his actions, and resell himself as a servant of Libya.

John Oliver:  "Gaddafi is one of the most eccentric despots in the Middle East. This leather-faced, Ukrainian nurse-loving lunatic has been in power since 1969."

Then Oliver compares both their bosses as dictators:  "We both work for charismatic dictatorial figures who don't like to leave their rooms unless it's to go on to TV.  They are both addicted to the adulation of crowds.  They both look really weird up close.  They both like Jewish jokes - though probably for different reasons..."

Oliver frames the interview like a commiseration fest over bad bosses.  Not to be missed is Oliver's marketing campaign to rename Libya to some seriously outrageous and funny ones.  He never did manage to sell the ambassador on any of it.  Get a look and a laugh for your work week:

To find out what the future might hold for a free Libya, The Daily Show takes a look back at John Oliver's interview with Ambassador Ali Suleiman Aujali.

Dennys Global Politics: Libya: Jon Stewart Comments on Celebrating Gaddafi Death

Jon StewartJon Stewart (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)Dennys Global Politics: Libya: Jon Stewart Comments on Celebrating Gaddafi Death: From Denny: Only Jon Stewart could send off Gaddafi with a Big Bang out of this world. He likens Gaddafi to the death of the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz.

You watch the striped legs with fire engine red shoes suddenly withdraw and disappear under the house - that was dropped onto said naughty witch - and then the witch vanishes in the famous Hollywood magic.

So it is with Gaddafi vanishing off the world stage. Actually, he was also mocking the media for telling viewers about how graphic were the death photos of Gaddafi so Stewart had a little fun with this idea.

Moving right along, Stewart changes over to giving advice to dictators in his segment: Offers Strongmen His Dic-Tip. Come on; all American male comics love penis jokes and never fail to include them in every show. Of course, nothing like rightfully comparing dictators to Dick Heads - or Richard Craniums for the sensitive crowd.

Dennys Global Politics: Libya: Specific Targeting: Predator Drones, Gazillion Political Cartoons

Dennys Global Politics: Libya: Specific Targeting: Predator Drones, Gazillion Political Cartoons: "From Denny: America is off their war holiday and back in the driver's seat with NATO in Libya. Read that as the other guys so screwed up they demanded America go back to spending all the money and taking all the heat when the bombs land on unintended targets. They never did get their targeting as accurate as America does.

The latest? Well, at least we are using less expensive weaponry. This time we are back to using the drones with Hellfire missiles like we used in Pakistan. Of course, Pakistan is tired of us and ordered out our CIA intelligence gathering crowd. They aren't too happy with our drones killing off well-paying Taliban who fund the corrupt members of the Pakistani military and political circle.

So, what is a self-respecting American military to do? Well, just slide those useful drones right on over to Libya, of course: brilliant! We can boast about how we save money for the budget deal of a life time. Then we can brag how we don't kill quite as many innocents when we bomb Gadafi's troops."

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 17 April 2011

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 17 April 2011: "While the Japanese nuclear crisis continues unabated, the rest of the world has moved on, dreading the inevitable. At the moment the world community has pressured Japan to come up with a plan to contain or deal with the crisis over a nine month period.

Why the same people are in charge of this mess that created the mess is a mystery. It's as foolish as it was to trust BP to clean up the oil spill disaster in my own Gulf of Mexico. Serious hardships still exist as a result of President Obama and BP refusing to do what it takes to make things right, especially in Louisiana.

At the very least the President could do is refuse to allow BP access to any of America's oil fields on or off shore. The company has simply not earned the right to drill for oil on American soil or in our oceans."

Dennys Global Politics: Libya: African Union Tries Brokering Cease Fire With Gadafi, Cartoons

DAVOS/SWITZERLAND, 27JAN10 - Jacob G. Zuma, Pr...President Jacob Zuma - Image via Wikipedia

Dennys Global Politics: Libya: African Union Tries Brokering Cease Fire With Gadafi, Cartoons: "Talks are in session with Gadafi and the rebels about a cease fire, brokered by the African Union and South African President Jacob Zuma. The hope is to end air strikes as well.

Read that as giving Gadafi cover for some time to either weasel out of the country or get his bearings back from so much bombing. After all, he wrote President Obama, like some affectionate pen pal, begging him to end the American air strikes as we worked to create the No-Fly Zone by eliminating most of Gadafi's air capability."

3 Funny Videos: Jon Stewart At Not War, Obama Defends Libya War

Jon StewartImage via Wikipedia
From Denny:  Jon Stewart sure keeps this White House on their toes. Actually, he agrees with the President on going into Libya for the most part. But, being a comedian, it's his patriotic duty to lampoon politics wherever and whenever possible. These video clips are Stewart's response to when Obama and the coalition began bombing Gadafi to gain air superiority, establishing the No-Fly Zone.

The Social Poets: Libya: Gadafi Regime Cracking Under Pressure Says Intel

The Social Poets: Libya: Gadafi Regime Cracking Under Pressure Says Intel: " The intelligence community is reporting 'the morale of Gadhafi forces is on the decline,' according to one official. 'Do ya think?' Your morale would be on the decline after witnessing coalition bombings taking out whole regiments of troops along with bombing cities. It's a lot different when the horror you once inflicted upon others becomes your own blood and guts horror.

Sounds like America's intelligence community so owes me a paycheck. :) They have finally come to the same conclusion as I have that The Gadafi Crowd can't handle the international heat and fear the massing crowds of Libyans who hate him."

Dennys Global Politics: Peoples Revolution Recaptures Port Cities: Libya Political Cartoons

Tornado GR4 Takes Off from RAF Marham to Enfor...Image by Defence Images via Flickr

Dennys Global Politics: Peoples Revolution Recaptures Port Cities: Libya Political Cartoons: "Since the U.S. and the minority coalition established the No-Fly Zone over Libya last week, the rebels have fared better. To gain control over the skies, it was necessary to destroy Gadafi compounds, tanks, anti-aircraft batteries, weapons dumps and whole regiments of troops on the move. In short, America, the British and the French decimated most of the Gadafi regime.

At present, the rebels have marched along the coastal cities, taking back ownership after Gadafi drove them out with aerial bombings and tank bombardments. Turn about was fair play and Gadafi's troops got a taste of the horror they inflicted upon others, now visited upon themselves."

The Social Poets: Obama: End Libya War Now and 14 Political Cartoons

With his family by his side, Barack Obama is s...Image via Wikipedia
The Social Poets: Obama: End Libya War Now and 14 Political Cartoons: "While America's war hawks and profiteers are thrilled to have spent $1 billion this week bombing Libya, it's time to complete The Hand Over to anyone else but us. Americans did not expect to be the country spending 95 percent of the money in this police action and we are not happy about it. American taxpayers are fed up with footing the bill for everything all the time and for far too long. We spend decades in idiot unnecessary expensive wars started by previous presidents, then start 'police actions' in a current administration."

Dennys Global Politics: Libya News Update: Political Cartoons of Gadhafi Last Stand

Dennys Global Politics: Libya News Update: Political Cartoons of Gadhafi Last Stand: "Today news reached the West that Gadhafi air bombed a rebel held town in eastern Libya in a desperate attempt to retake control. Two bombs were dropped near al-Brega.

Why did Gadhafi choose that town when so many others are now under rebel control? Try the fact this town possesses key oil and natural gas facilities: money makers."
