From Denny: Can it get any more surreal or weirdly funny? Delaware's Republican Senate nominee just shot her candidacy down in flames. Yet more proof positive that the Tea Party is comprised of a lot of whacky people far from the wholesome norm they try to project.
New revelations have come out about Christine O'Donnell "dabbled in witchcraft" back in 1999, according to her own admission. Of all places to admit it was on Bill Maher's show, "Politically Incorrect" where she was an occasional conservative pundit. Of course, Maher wasted no time in dredging up her past by airing the clip last night on his new show, "Real Time."
Christine O'Donnell: "I dabbled into witchcraft. I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. ... I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I'm not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do. . . . "
"One of my first dates with a witch was on a Satanic altar, and I didn't know it. I mean, there's little blood there and stuff like that. ... We went to a movie and then had a midnight picnic on a Satanic altar."
Now wouldn't you wonder just a bit if a guy took you on a date where there was blood all over your picnic area...? Does this woman even possess a tiny bit of common sense or good judgment??? Three words about her dream date: serial killer alert.
Well, as you can guess, O'Donnell is having a tough time rehabilitating her tarnished image. She canceled interviews on Fox News (ultra conservative Christian audience) and on CBS's "Face The Nation," both scheduled for tomorrow. She was to celebrate her unexpected win against the establishment Republican for the Senate race in the state of Delaware.
All week the press has been giddy over the rising tide of Tea Party nominees succeeding against the Karl Rove Republicans. You just know when something is just a little too celebrated with great glee that something is not far behind it about to crash the party.
Another amusing bizarre statement, among many, she has made: "American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains."
Real Life: isn't this just great? I can't make this stuff up! :) And the Democrats are dancing in the streets like it's Mardi Gras in the New Orleans French Quarter...
Fast forward to the present and we find out that candidate O'Donnell is running a new scam for the unemployed: using her campaign funds to pay her rent and other personals, even long after the campaign is over. Hmmmm.... fraud anyone?
